Fukura is open-core. The CLI, spec, adapter SDK, MCP server, and client library are Apache-2.0 forever. Paid tiers gate the hub — never the capture path. You can self-host everything, forever, and never pay us.

Why we bill on seats, not notes stored
The value of fukura is proportional to how many engineers and agents feed it. If we metered on captured records, customers would throttle the pipeline, which is the one thing you don’t want a measurement system to do. Seats and attempt volume track actual usage without punishing the behaviour we want.
Open-core commitment
Per ADR 0002, the CLI, EKP spec, adapter SDK, MCP server, and client library are Apache-2.0 in perpetuity. The hub implementation is source-available commercial so we can build the analytics that pay for it. The hub wire contract (Hub API v1) is public, so any conformant server — ours, yours, or someone else’s — works with the same CLI.
